Summer Camp 2018 Goes To Donsol

It may be summer, but BD BPO Solutions Inc. was the one brought the heat to the Amore Farm Resort in Donsol, Sorsogon for the Summer Camp 2018 held last May 12, 2018. Everyone from the executives, BD Software, Naga and Daraga Operations put their game faces on for the one day event. The group arrived at 7:30 in the morning for the registration and the opening program. They were welcomed with a message by none other than General Manager Mr. Brian Baltasar and then the lighting of the torch by the Agent of the Year 2017, Ms. Angelie Agregado. The Pledge of Sportsmanship was led by Senior Agent, Mr. Darel Brigido Sison. The attendees were split into four teams to battle it out on the camp games which were conducted in the morning and afternoon. The games included were the Flag Racing, Amazing Race, and the Volleyball and Basketball games. Even with the daytime activities taking much of the group’s energy, they were still all smiles during dinnertime. The ambience was even made better with an acoustic session given by Mr. Renford Ebuenga and Nery Jean Baroma. The evening was then lit on fire even with the cool summer breeze with the Super Sireyna and That’s My BD Boy competition. Kim Masbate and Shara Mariz Belleza took home the crown as Super Sireyna 2018 and That’s My BD Boy 2018 respectively. The awarding of winners for the daytime activities was also conducted during the pageant. With Team Aqua winning the Amazing Race, Irate Team winning the Volleyball game and Woods Team winning the Basketball game. After the pageant and awarding of winners, everyone partied the night away and sang their hearts out with the karaoke. It was a scorching summer, but the Summer Camp 2018 was indeed a summer highlight everyone will remember. With the fun activities under the sun that definitely beat the heat, and the partying under the moonlight, what more could you ask for? Even as the summer ended, the camp spirit was definitely here to stay.

Why There is a Growing Demand For Call Center Agents in the Country

Twenty-six years after the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry started in the Philippines, the industry has become one of the major contributor in the country’s annual GDP or Gross Domestic Product. Even with this enormous and continuous growth, the industry still faces many misconceptions. But still, there is no denying the contribution of the BPO industry to both the economy and the employment of innumerable Filipinos in need. You may ask why the industry this big in the country and why are Filipinos so in demand as call center agents. Here are some of the reasons why it really is fitting that the Philippines was declared as the world’s BPO capital. English Matters. Although the English language is widely spoken all over the world, foreign BDO companies still gravitate towards the Philippine BDO industry. This is because Filipinos do not have a distinct accent when speaking in English. We are also confident in speaking the language. This is a good selling point for foreign investors because it means agent-customer relations will be well with less miscommunication. The Power of Man. There is no question about the Filipinos’ talent, commitment to their work and overall employability. The skills we possess, not only our English proficiency is attractive to foreign BPO companies. Aside from this, our work ethic and willingness in working with a team gives us an edge against competitors. Legit Filipino Values. Working in a call center company means having to deal with different types of people and culture. To some, this will be a little too much. But Filipinos have a long history of adaptability and hospitability. These traits, among many others Filipinos naturally possess are traits that work well in customer service. These also assure that every call and transaction will be a favourable experience for the customers and will have a positive impact to the company. Money Talks. The cost of living and operating in the Philippines is much lower than in Western countries. Offshore outsourcing saves money operating in this country for almost 30 to 60%. BPO companies also take advantage of the fact that the labor cost in the Philippines is lower than most countries. Time is money. So, aside from the operation costs, BPO companies also save in terms of their time investment. Because of the skills Filipino employees already have, the time and money spent on training can be lessened. This gives the company more resources to further expand and improve the company.

Business and Relaxation Meet at the Managers' Team Building 2018

Taking a break from managing the busy offices of the company, BD BPO’s managers managed to have fun instead in the Managers’ Team Building conducted last April 26-30, 2018 at the Matabungkay Beach Hotel in Lian, Batangas and in Tagaytay City. The event, headed by the President/CEO Bernie John Baltasar himself, served as a summer escapade to the hardworking managers, and also as a work immersion to further improve their managerial skills. The first part of the Team Building was conducted in the scenic Matabungkay Beach Hotel in Batangas. The attendees, which include the IT, Marketing, Operations and QA managers and the team leaders for the call center operations arrived at the venue on the 27th of April and were greeted with breakfast upon arrival. Because it was on the beach, fun under the sun will always be expected. And the attendees certainly had their fun, banana boat riding and eating Filipino delicacies for lunch on a raft. After a casual, relaxing morning, it was time to get down to business. A stragetic planning for the call center operations of BD BPO and the SweldoMo presentation for the Matabungkay Beach Hotel by BD BPO’s IT department were conducted. The fruitful day ended with a dinner under the stars and by the beach. It was hard to say goodbye, but the group photos the team took to keep as remembrance made it bearable to leave. After that, the group headed to the windy city of Tagaytay and were on top of the world at the People’s Park in the Sky. And it wouldn’t be Tagaytay if you wouldn’t try to fly, or at least, try the zip line. After all that fun, it was time to say good night and the attendees checked into Kasa Luntian. The next day was all fun and games as everyone went to Sky Ranch and then had a delectable dinner at Diner’s Bulalo Restaurant. The last day in Tagaytay was spent basking under the sun in the Kasa Luntian swimming pool. The group then went to Rowena’s Pasalubong and Restaurant for an out of town trip wouldn’t be complete without buying a variety of pasalubong to everyone you love. And as good as the trip was, it was time to go home. The team building was indeed a success, not only giving the team a time to put a pause on the stress and challenges of being a leader and give the managers a little bit of fun. It was also a chance to get ideas on how to improve their leadership skills. The trip also showed that the bond and camaraderie of the leaders was as strong as ever, making the company feel less of a workplace and more of a home.
